Move a Vault file’s key to paper-only. Scan the printed key with your phone. Watch the document open on your desktop.
Start with the file in your Vault.
Open the key control beside the document and choose “Move key to paper-only”. The file stays encrypted online; you are moving control of its decryption key to paper.

Save the Paper Key before removing the online copy.
Print or download the Paper Key, then paste the generated key back to confirm you have saved it. Choose “Confirm and remove online key” to complete the move.
Keep the printed key secure: it is needed to unlock the file.

When you return to preview the document, the desktop shows “Scan paper key to view” and waits for the key.
The document remains protected until the matching key is supplied.

Paper Key lets you remove the online key copy after saving and confirming it. When you need to preview the protected file, scan your saved key and return to the desktop. Store that sheet securely: if it is lost, the protected file may be unrecoverable.
