A financial model
Get approval of the original spreadsheet, including the version that contains the figures and formulas being reviewed.
Large CAD models. Spreadsheets. Videos. ZIP archives. And PDFs. Get signatures on the original file, with approval bound to its exact version.
Open the file’s menu in your Vault and choose “Request Signature”. These captures use a PDF; the same signing workflow applies to a CAD model, spreadsheet, image, video or ZIP archive.
The file format does not define what you can approve.
Type or draw your signature, then add the other signers in the order you need. Set each person’s role and whether their signature is required.
Request approval of a large CAD file from your client or engineering lead.
Confirm that you have reviewed the file and agree to sign electronically. Choose “Sign and send” to record your signature and invite the next signer.
The signature binds to this exact file version and its hash.
The request records the file version, document hash, signer order and event timeline. Here, Toby has signed and Simon’s approval is pending.
A clear record of the file being approved and the signing progress.
The recipient receives an email from your company’s branded signing workflow. The invitation names the file and opens the review-and-sign journey.
A recognisable company experience from invitation to completion.
Before signing, the recipient receives a separate code at the invited email address. The invitation link alone does not establish their identity.
An email-ownership check before the recipient can sign.
The recipient enters the emailed code to continue. The code expires after 10 minutes, as shown in this product capture.
The signing journey checks access to the intended email inbox.
The recipient can verify the file’s provenance. The green result shown here confirms the creator signature and document integrity against the available evidence.
Check the recorded evidence before adding your own approval.
Preview the file where supported, or download it to review in its native application. For a large CAD model, open the original in your CAD software before returning to sign.
No PDF conversion needed. Approve the actual CAD file, not a substitute.
Type your name or draw your signature. The visible signature is recorded with the signing evidence; the approval is bound to the file’s hash.
The signature appearance and the cryptographic file binding work together.
Tick the agreement after reviewing the file, then choose “Sign document”. The recipient can also decline. This capture shows the drawn-signature route.
Approval is recorded for this version. A changed file needs a new review.
The completion screen confirms that all required signatures have been recorded. Download the signature proof, including the original file, signature certificate and verification evidence.
Any file type. A specific version. Downloadable evidence of approval.
You need a client to approve the latest engineering design. Put the original DWG, STEP or IFC file in your Vault and request their signature. They download it, inspect it in their CAD application, then sign that exact version.
The approval is linked to the file’s hash. You keep the original design together with a signature certificate and verification evidence. There is no need to turn the model into a PDF to request a signature.
Get approval of the original spreadsheet, including the version that contains the figures and formulas being reviewed.
Ask a client to approve a video, photograph or artwork before it is released.
Record approval of an archive, technical package or other file as delivered, with evidence tied to that file.
A hash identifies the exact bytes being approved. Signing does not depend on inserting a visual mark into a PDF. The signature appearance belongs in the certificate; the cryptographic record binds the approval to the file. Preview support depends on the format, so specialist files can be downloaded and reviewed in their native application.
Guided demonstration using the supplied PDF signing captures. CAD and other file formats are example use cases of the same file-hash signing workflow.
